Sexual violence against children is a common phenomenon – every fifth child in Europe has experienced it. The vast majority of sexually abused children have been hurt by a person they know. Children sexually abused by an adult usually do not tell anyone about it.
Conversations about the risk of sexual abuse can be difficult for both parents and children. Parents do not want to scare or upset their children. Sometimes they think it’s too early to deal with such issues with the child. Children, on the other hand, do not always understand the explanations or are afraid of such topics.
That is why we offer chatters, i.e. simple conversations on these difficult topics, intended for children between 4 and 11 years of age. On page gadki.fdds.pl You will find a collection of tips on conversations with children about protection against use and educational materials, including a film, a brochure, a flyer, a poster, a home schedule, games and activities, as well as lesson plans.
It is very important! By encouraging the child to talk, showing that he can talk to you about any topic, as well as teaching them to express their feelings and emotions or say “no” – you teach the child how to defend himself against sexual abuse.
